We want to highlight the people that make up our growing community at The Crag, so we’ve introduced a feature on the blog called Around The Crag. Every few weeks we’ll highlight one of our members, giving you a chance to get to know them a little better. This week we have Guha Rajan. Guha is one of our younger members.
Hi, My name is Guha Rajan, and climbing is a huge part of my life.
1. Where are you from?
I was born in Nashville, TN, but my parents were both born in India.
2. How long have you been climbing?
I have been climbing for almost two years now, but I have only taken it seriously for about one.
3. What do you love most about rock climbing?
Honestly, the best feeling in the world is knowing that you were able to exceed your limits and push your boundaries. With that being the case, that sense of completion when you reach the peak of a tough route is really what has kept me going as a climber.
4. Other than climbing, what are your hobbies and interests?
Other than climbing, I love to play guitar, slackline, and spend time with friends. I am also an avid tricker.
5. What is your favorite quote?
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
-Henry David Thoreau, Walden
6. Tent, RV, or hotel? Please Explain.
Tent all the way. The other options are, simply put, the easy way out. Not to sound like an absolute hipster, but I believe the closer that one can be with the Earth and its natural surroundings, the better.
7. Favorite song right now?
8. Do you have a spirit animal? If so, what is it and why?
Although I’m allergic, the housecat. No reason whatsoever, other than that it made me laugh when they mentioned it in the movie “Hot Rod.”
9. Are you on Instagram, Twitter, etc.? If so, where do we find you?
You can find me on the instragrams @sharkbaitguhaha
