That’s a wrap on Regionals for Rope! Our USAC Team spent this weekend at @memphisroxclimbing for a Championship level competition in top rope and lead climbing.

We are so proud of all our competitors for their hard work and mental fortitude. Out of 13 who competed this weekend, 6 are moving on to the next round at Divisional’s next month! Go, Team Crag!

Big thanks to @memphisroxclimbing for being our host and to all the Regional Coordinators and volunteers at @usac52 for their hard work behind the scenes.

Our Routesetters take falls so you don't have to.

Whether it's testing out the risk, changing a hold, changing several moves, adding a foot, or just turning the hold to a different side, our routesetters use creativity to come up with fun, repeatable moves that will get you hooked.

Our CragFit classes get RESULTS!

We just wrapped up another 8-weeks of CragFit and our participants saw major gains! Our CragFit classes use strength training, skill based climbing, and sport specific movement to improve climbing performance.

With testing at the beginning and end of the class journey, you can see exactly how much you've learned and improved with skills that directly impact your climbing ability. Big congrats to @mirandapowellmusic for finishing stronger than she started with these impressive gains!

Summer Camp registration is open for both the Crag Nashville and Franklin locations!

Sign your child up now for our Summer Camps! Our first week of camp starts on June 5th. Spots are currently available for full day or half day Summer Camp in June and July where they can learn about climbing, make new friends, and have fun with this years camping theme! 🏕️🔥🌲

When someone gives beta to the routesetter. 🙈

When someone gives beta to the routesetter. 🙈

Usually it’s frowned upon to give beta unless you ask permission first but it’s especially frowned on if you give beta to the person who set the route! 😂

Half the fun for many climbers is problem solving on their own, so best etiquette is to ask before giving beta to another climber.

Other ways you can help a fellow climber instead of beta:

- Cheer them on! (Allez, allez! Come on! You got this!)
- Ask them what part they are stuck on.
- If they keep falling on the same move you can encourage them that they can figure it out.

Our Adult Beginner Series (ABS) is starting back up! This 6-week program prepares you for all of the climbing basics each Monday from 5:30-7:00 pm.

Learn how to belay, basic climbing technique, climbing terminology, and develop your confidence as a climber.

This 6-week series begins May 1st.

Meet Ashley! Officially, she’s known as the Oper

Meet Ashley! Officially, she’s known as the Operations Manager for The Crag Gyms but most of the time we think of her as Kim’s right hand!

She found climbing 20 years ago on a college trip and on that same trip she met a boy who is now her husband. Together they enjoy taking their two kids climbing outdoors with them as a family. She feels like climbing is a great opportunity to be with her family, learn her own capabilities, and face her fears.

Her favorite thing about working for The Crag is the people in the community as well as the people she works with and teaches.

Random fact: If you know Ashley, you probably also know how much she loves all things Disney! From her collection of Mickey ears to her frequent trips to the parks, she’s your go-to guide if you’re planning a trip soon!

We’re starting off a challenge for the next few days:

Thank you to everyone who has made our first two weeks of being open such a success! As of April 14th we had over 1,751 check-ins including day pass users and members since we opened our doors to the public!

Now that we are fully open, our classes and programs are getting started too. If you want to take a belay class, skills class, or have your child signed up for one of our youth programs, we are now offering that here at @cragfranklin .
